Multilingualism is a Critical Characteristic of Research Communications
“Multilingualism is a critical characteristic of a healthy, inclusive, and diverse research communications
landscape. Publishing in a local language ensures that the public in different countries has access to the research they fund, and also levels the playing field for researchers who speak different languages.”1
We are pleased to announce THMT has published its first Spanish language review article translation to facilitate communications, research, and important market analysis to guide business decisions, available in 4 formats - PDF, XML, HTML, and ePub. Additionally, Partners in Digital Health (PDH), publisher of THMT, is a
proud signatory of the Helsinki Initiative on Multilingualism.
Thanks to our diverse audience, and our commitment to a bibliodiverse publishing ecosystem, Telehealth and Medicine Today is proud to
publish the peer reviewed research entitled:
“Prevalence of Telemedicine and Telehealth in Latin American Hospitals”

In elucidating THMT’s stance on bibliodiversity, the publisher, recently responded to a query from Clarivate Web of Science, to explain the “alignment between the stated scope and the content of the
journal” in claiming to be international.
THMT’s journal view is holistic. Roughly 34% of the board is from outside the USA representing 12 countries. Many of our articles are published from authors outside the USA. In fact, our highest cited article and Editors Best Article Award from 2020, is from an author from Bangladesh (this is based on the number of views, downloads, citations, and originality). The journal is read in 105+
countries worldwide. The publisher off shores production to India. THMT has several ambassador chapters outside the USA. It has published a special issue featuring meeting proceedings from the 16th International Conference of Telemedicine Society of India, where over 30 authors from India were featured. The annual companion ConV2X event features prominent global experts such as a keynote form Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Secretary General of the WHO, and other think tanks and SMEs from
countries across the EU, Latin America, and Middle East. The journal has regional editors from Brazil, UK, Singapore, Italy.
THMT consistently asks and invites reviewers and authors outside the US to consider the journal. The Waiver Policy is also exercised and promoted our for those in emerging nations. The journal makes every effort to invite and welcome professionals from around the globe to ensure a multidisciplinary
bibliodiverse collaborative is reflected with the journal; and believes research should reflect broad populations for better health, outcomes and innovations across global health systems.
We are pleased to add multilingual translations to the list!
