This paper examines how blockchain technology can accelerate digital health transformation programs by
addressing persistent data fragmentation, security, and interoperability challenges. The authors highlight that while the COVID-19 pandemic spurred rapid adoption of digital health tools, many healthcare systems still struggle with siloed data and limited cross-organizational information sharing. Through a literature review and secondary data analysis, the study outlines blockchain’s key applications in health data management, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), supply chain management, and
health insurance.
The paper identifies critical technical, regulatory, and organizational factors that determine successful blockchain deployment. It emphasizes the need for careful planning, specialized expertise, and stakeholder collaboration to navigate interoperability standards and compliance requirements.
This work is valuable for healthcare leaders,
policymakers, digital transformation strategists, and technology developers seeking to leverage blockchain to create secure, interoperable, and efficient digital health ecosystems.
